Police Probe Suspected Horse Theft in Mesquite
Mesquite Police Officer Margaret Hamer investigated a reported horse theft tied to Truett H. Dewberry at Rt. 2. A sorrel gelding valued at 800 and an iron gray mare valued at 700 disappeared after stalls were cut and a fence damaged. Two other horses remained in the corral. thieves used a wooden cover to block escape. Case under investigation.
