Eastfield Pool Opens for Summer Community Swim

Suspects Nabbed After Mall Parking Lot Chase

Play Program Opens June 7 In Mesquite Cities Parks
The Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department launches a summer play program starting Monday June 7 at city school parks Florence Black McWhorter Motley Range. Activities run Monday to Friday 830 am to 1240 pm with crafts sports games and weekly events under trained leadership. Mesquite police report a 41 year old white male assaulted a white female during a domestic dispute and attacked a black poodle with a claw hammer. The dog was found injured in a car seat, treated by a veterinarian, and the man faces charges for the animal assault.

Middle school students may enroll for a three quarter course at 60 dollars, seniors for up to four quarters cost 35 for first, 15 for second, 10 each for third and fourth. Mesquite North Lions Club announces the Stebbin Royal European Circus will perform June 10 and 11 at the Big Town Shopping Center as part of the bicentennial celebration. Proceeds fund Lions eyeglass programs, camps for crippled children, youth scholarships, and eye bank support. The event includes two daily shows at 2 and 5 pm and follows the Dallas convention of the Circus Fans Association of America.
