Mesquite plans add elementary piano classes with electronic pianos
Mesquite school officials voted at the December trustees meeting to buy two electronic pianos at 3000 dollars each for evening classes. The plan aims to run 24 students per evening in 30 minute lessons at a small tuition, amortizing costs over two years to be self supporting. Officials hope to expand to one piano per school. In a separate incident, a big trailer truck valued at 29700 dollars and a cargo of merchandise were reported missing from the Mid-Continent Truck Stop.

Sunnyvale ISD will set up its own tax office in early 1973 and vacate the city’s building at Belt Line and Town East. The city council denied renewing longtime city secretary Mrs. Mayer and named Mrs. Padgett acting city secretary and tax assessor collector beginning January 1 1973. Township opposition to annexation drew a large crowd and 321 residents signed a statement against township disincorporation. Two Men Arrested For Passing Hot Checks In Mesquite
Mesquite Police and the Hot Check Control unit of the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce arrested two 22 year old men on charges of passing four hot checks totaling 544.82 to Payless Cashways. They were arraigned with bonds set at 1000 each and will stand trial in Dallas County Court.
