Mesquite native John Beecham, a research biologist with the Idaho Fish and Game Department, describes trapping over 720 bears in five years and will present a free slide and lecture at Mesquite Public Library. He notes winter work in deep snow with bears in dens and recalls a colleague bitten by a mother bear moments after his own near-miss. Beecham visits from Idaho for a Dallas luncheon engagement.
