Eclipse eclipse energizes excitement across the United States
Crowds of students and scientists watched a rare annular solar eclipse from El Paso and cities nationwide. Children used pinhole devices while high school and university researchers measured sun energy and temperatures as the moon covered the sun and a softer light spread. The event, visible from parts of Oklahoma and Los Angeles blocked by clouds elsewhere, is the first in the U S since 1991 and won t recur until 2012.
