Principal Faces Likely Three Month Suspension Over Harassment Claims
A state advisory committee recommended a three month suspension for former Shumway Elementary principal Joseph Pena after a four day hearing on sexual harassment allegations raised by Chandler Unified School District. Pena, now at C O Greenfield Elementary in Phoenix, denied harmful conduct, while supporters described him as turning around a tough school. The final board decision in April could impose the suspension or revoke teaching certificates.
