Groundbreaking for Mesa Boys and Girls Club marks milestone
Gary Yazwa and 800 volunteers lead a milestone ground breaking for a new Mesa facility. The Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley expanded from 300 youths in 1978 to over 8,000 served across Chandler Gilbert Guadalupe Mesa Tempe and funding grew from 54000 to about 2.3 million dollars. A 1991 capital campaign aimed to raise over 3 million for new and renovated clubs and teen centers.
