Chad Allen Lee, 21, of Phoenix, found guilty of two counts each of first degree murder, armed robbery and sexual assault in the 1992 killings of a pizza delivery woman and taxi driver. Jurors also charged Lee with theft and kidnapping. a May 20 pre sentence hearing is set. Co defendant Hunt faces separate trials for related killings.
Community Council questions a Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix director Gary Yazna over conflicting 1992-93 IRS and council salary figures. IRS shows nearly 98,000 with 8,900 benefits while the council listed 89,000. Yazna cites base pay plus bonuses and car allowance, saying both forms are accurate. Council notes bonuses are part of compensation and should be disclosed, while directors’ pay compared with peers raises concerns about fundraising image. Yazna defends value, says controversy could hurt future donations and youth programs.
