North says Reagan made him lie to Congress
Senate hopeful Oliver North told CBS News that President Reagan compelled the lies he told to the House Intelligence Committee in 1986 about aiding the Nicaraguan Contras. North said the White House allowed secret funding and that he was not under oath when he lied. He argued officials directed his actions to keep Contras weapons support hidden from Congress.
