Vision Mesa aims to convert canal banks into recreation routes
Hawker outlined plans to use Mesa canal banks over 50 miles for biking and commuting. He noted that an 8-foot gravel path is cheap but adding lighting ramadas emergency phones drinking fountains and crossings raises costs. Gravity's role in body shape cited in council report
Trivia Gravity governs the height and shape of our bodies, also dictating the size and shape of organs and limbs, more, and was among 24 recommendations made last summer by an ad hoc bicycle committee that Councilman Pat Gilbert assembled. The councilman noted that Mesa's canals used to meander through the city lined with tall cottonwood trees. But the trees were removed in the interest of water conservation, and rapid growth caused the concrete-lined canals to be hidden from view.
