Snowbowl and Mount Lemmon Ski Valley report thin crowds as storms fail to arrive. Lynda Calvano cites a one third drop in visitors during the holidays while Kelly Oby notes snow shortages. Despite a 20 inch base at Snowbowl, operators groom nightly, awaiting more snow as temps hover in the 40s. The region trails average snowfall and forecasts show little precipitation next week, though operators expect better results in February and March.
