A Louis Harris poll of 1,250 adults taken December 20 to 26 shows the nation’s top 1994 hope is world peace at 38 percent. Other hopes include a strong economy and lower unemployment. Personal fears include loss of job at 14 percent, poor health at 12 percent, and loss of financial security at 10 percent. The margin of error is about 3 percent.
