Aelanoma vaccine cuts tumor recurrence in high risk patients
Researchers at Thomas Jefferson University report a vaccine made from patients' own tumor cells plus an immune stimulant reduced recurrence in high risk advanced melanoma. After three years, about 70 percent remained disease free. experts say the approach could extend to other cancers with peptide targets and synthetic production.

More implant companies join liability settlement

Johns Hopkins researchers report broccoli and related vegetable compounds can block mammary tumor formation in rats exposed to a carcinogen. In a 50 day test, 68 percent of control rats developed tumors while about 26 percent given sulforaphane or related compounds did.
