Granary Fire Destroys Dr Chanler’s Property and Machinery
Last Friday evening a large fire gutted Dr Chanler’s granary, destroying about six hundred thousand pounds of grain plus machinery including a road grader and dynamo. The loss was total with no insurance on the building or equipment though the grain’s gravis was insured. Reinforcements from Lehi and Mesa aided efforts to salvage whatever possible. A separate note reports oral welder H.S. Weller’s son accidentally shot in the leg, later dying of blood poisoning from lockjaw at age nineteen.
