A crowded Phoenix gathering featured a grand Republican rally as local figures like Mrs. W. H. Code returned from the East. The item also lists visits from business people, farm progress on the Mesa, real estate updates, medical cures, market changes, and public notices across the city.
A late force of men strengthens the dam at the head of the Consolidated canal assuring safety against floods. The area should gain from great river floods with grain and alfalfa fields benefiting. John Knight in Arizona builds a fine store and adjacent elegant residence expected to be fully furnished.
An advertisement offers free sample boxes of Dr King’s New Life Pills from HEF Bucklen & Co. in Chicago, praising them for constipation headaches malaria and liver troubles with vegetable ingredients and no deleterious substances. Sold by J H Barnett. The ad ends with a local blurb about Will Pomeroy’s growing family and mining work.
Mr Gilman Brown of 34 Mill Street South Garner Massachusetts reports his son suffered lung trouble after Typhoid Malaria. Doctors spent $375 and gave up, but Dr King’s New Discovery restored him to health and enabled him to work. He credits the medicine as best for lung trouble and notes bottles available free at J H Barnett’s Drug Store. Also mentions the heaviest rain in years with thunder and lightning Sunday night into Monday.
Notice states the partnership between O. C. Felton and M. I. Pomeroy is dissolved by mutual consent. Felton will continue the business alone.
Judge Hakes arrived home Monday from the semi annual Mormon church meeting in Salt Lake City. He says the trip was pleasant and enjoyable overall. Farmers Exchange advertises fresh groceries, dry goods, dress goods and shoes with fair dealing, good goods and low prices to fetch top produce prices and low-cost goods.
The notice promotes B. M. Johnson & Bros offering fresh groceries and new lines of dry goods with courteous service and low prices. It also advertises Shilohs Cure for coughs available from J W Bailey.
A collage of medical cures and household items offers Shiloh’s Catarrh Remedy with a nasal injector, Hood’s Pills and Hood’s Sarsaparilla praised by Mrs Norman, plus Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy and watches offered by J W Bailey and Co Op, with contact notes and price hints.
Chicago alderman James L. Francis praises Dr. King's New Discovery as an ideal panacea for coughs colds and lung complaints after five years of exclusive use in his family, preferring it over physicians prescriptions.
Notice advises all persons intending to can Bartlett pears to wait until about October 1 when Geo. Schornick will have a large crop or sale.

Three weekly trips operate between Mesa Florence and Globe with no night travel. Outbound leaves Mesa Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays at 5 am arriving Globe 6 pm the next day. Passengers can visit Laguna or Acoma, the Petrified Forest near Carrizo, Canyon Diablo, San Francisco Mountains, Cave and Cliff Dwellers ruins, and the longest cantilever bridge over the Colorado River.
In Annapolis Maryland on April 16 1894 Jno G Brook eater from Mechanicville St Mary County testifies Chamberlains Pain Balm treats rheumatism and deep muscular pains and recommends it. A J McGill of Mechanicville says it helped a man with years of rheumatism. Sold by druggists at 50 cents per bottle.
The butchering business known as Geo W Lewis & Co is dissolved by mutual consent. L A Lewis and D S Lewis continue as L R Lewis & Bro.
