Also mentioned are a fraud warning for Pride of Japan Tea, a Main Street opening update, a infant death, a medical remedy endorsement, and a barley and alfalfa farming profitability example in Salt River valley with detailed yield figures.
Mr and Mrs L L Looney report returning from a voyage to California and other parts of the Pacific Coast. They state Mesa as preferred among places viewed on their trip. The note ends with an old medicine ad promising a cold cure in one day via Laxative Bromo Quinine Tablets.
Public notice notes Dr King’s New Discovery for consumption coughs and colds has given away over ten million trial bottles and claims to have cured thousands. Asthma bronchitis hoarseness and lung diseases are addressed with a guaranteed bottle or refund. Also mentions S P and local railroad lime table update.
A South Pt. Pleasant West Virginia resident reports severe cold with violent coughing from the start. After trying many so called specifics with no relief, he bought Chamberlain's Cough Remedy and found it effective. Sold by J W Baily Druggist.
The National Acetylene Gas Co. of Buffalo promotes independent lighting from gas and electric providers. It claims its system requires less maintenance, offers double illumination, ships on 30 days trial, and cuts lighting costs by 40 percent for homes churches stores and factories. A free booklet is available to interested parties.
Idaville Indiana resident J W Gardner claims Electric Bitters revived his strength and appetite after years of gastric and blood poison symptoms. Advertised as a remedy for stomach liver and kidney troubles, nervousness and listlessness, with a stated guarantee and 50 cent price at J H Barnett's Drug Store. The Kimball House is noted for brisk business.

Administratrix Hannan Williams announces to all creditors and claimants that proofs with vouchers must be filed within four months after first publication. Claims addressed to the Administratrix in Lehi Maricopa County Arizona Territory. Dated October 7, 1899.
During the Civil War a ball struck G. B. Steadman at Newark Michigan leaving ulcers for twenty years. Bucklen’s Arnica Salve treated the wounds and cured him. The ad touts Arnica Salve for cuts burns bruises boils felons corns skin eruptions and piles with a 25 cent price and guaranteed cure sold by J H Barnett Druggist.
In Clay Up West Virginia during 1897 James Reed, a leading merchant, bruised his leg on ice and suffered swelling and pain. After failing with oils and whisky baths, Chamberlains Paint Ral restored nearly complete healing in a week, avoiding amputation. Pain Balm praised for sprains and bruises. Product sold by J W Bailey and Nicklin’s Southwest Printer’s Supply House.
In the District Court of Arizona Cornelius C. Hurley of Phoenix was adjudged bankrupt on October 24 1899. The first meeting of creditors will be held November 15 1899 at 10 30 AM in the Phoenix office of J A Kurtz to prove claims appoint a trustee and examine the bankrupt.
John P Leebrick of Mesa Arizona filed notice of intention to make proof on desert land claim No 2715 for the west half of section 29 township 28 range 5 east G S & B M before the clerk of the sea court in Phoenix on Monday December 11 1899.
