The Common Council of Mesa City adopts an annual tax levy of seventy five cents per one hundred dollars on property within Mesa City for fiscal year 1896 1897. The assessor will prepare and file a complete assessment roll, allow hearings on valuation, and enable appeals to the Common Council within five days. Taxes become a lien and are due the first Monday in September 1896. The Mayor, with Council direction, will attach a warrant signed by the Recorder to the tax roll.
The ordinance outlines tax delinquency rules for real and personal property in Mesa City Maricopa County Arizona. It sets a 1.5 percent monthly penalty from the third Monday in October 1896, publication or posted notices, and a public sale to satisfy taxes and costs.
