Mexicans Expand Orange Trade Amid Florida Shortage
Consul General Crittenden reports Mexico increasing orange exports to the United States with 600 carloads planned. Old trees are pruned, new orchards planted, as Mexico seeks to capture the American orange market from September to December. Mesa orchards yield two to three year trees producing fine fruit, including Royal apricots peaches plums and figs, signaling fledgling but promising fruit trade growth in Mesa.
