The Tucson Star notes Arizona political changes with Governor candidates and indictments while urging caution on public school text book changes. It highlights Parker the Prescott murderer facing grand jury indictment and Secretary of Arizona Akers confirmed, plus opinions on McCord and upcoming court dates.
In Mesa Arizona Territory at close of business December 26 1896 the ledger shows Loans and Discounts 13409 14, Due from Rectors 34165 11, Overdrafts 1 284 80, Capital Stock paid in 1284 80, Undivided Profits 1284 80, Individual Deposits 11394 46, Time Certificates of Deposit 1085. The statement is sworn by E W Wilbur cashier and witnessed by T E Pomeroy notary public on December 28 1897.
The document outlines corporate structure with president secretary and treasurer all being stockholders, a maximum indebtedness of 36000, and private property exempt from corporate debts. Signers A J Ghandier C L Atkins and H S Peterson are named along with a notary public A P Shewman acknowledging the instrument in Maricopa County dated May 7, 1897.
Three stage lines operate weekly routes between Mesa Globe and Riverside with overnight stops. Stages depart Mesa on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays at 5 am arriving Globe 6 am next day. return trips depart Globe at 5 am on those days arriving Mesa 6 pm next day. United States Land Office in Tucson announces Vic Harman of Tempe Maricopa County will prove desert land claim No 2044 before the District Court clerk in Phoenix on July 20. Witnesses listed include George Lrew Fred C Wicks Thomas Anderson and Liling Olsen all of Mesa or Tempe Arizona. First publication April 30.
Articles of incorporation filed in Maricopa County establish Mesa Hay and Grain Company by AJ Chandler C L Atkins and Hf S Pevercon. Purpose to buy sell hay grain alfalfa and related products, to bale hay, mortgage property, and conduct general business for twenty five years with a board of directors.

Train from Ash Fork departs at 1:85 PM for Los Angeles arriving next morning at 8:30. The same service reaches San Francisco that evening at 6:15 PM. The Eastbound Tesin train leaves Ash Fork at 7:49 AM.
Santa Fe Prescott and Phoenix Railroad departs Phoenix at 7 50 PM and arrives Prescott at 8 00 PM. Northbound stops include Ash Fork at 6 50 AM and 6 9 PM. Departures from Ash Fork are scheduled for 7 45 AM and 1 45 PM.
