Death of Jalbert P. Shewman Prominent Mesa Citizen
Jalbert P. Shewman died Sunday night at 9:15 in his Mesa home after a long illness of quinsy. He was 62 and survived by wife, two children, his mother, brother, sister, and other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church with Knights of Pythias and several lodges in attendance. The burial followed at the local cemetery with the K of P service conducted by Mr. Decker.

Funeral rites for A. P. Shewman held at Baptist church
A. P. Shewman, born September 24, 1865 in Petrolia Canada, died January 20 in Mesa Arizona after a throat illness. He practiced law after admission on November 27 1893 and left Canada for Chicago then California before settling eight years in Arizona. He married Ada Gibberns on July 4 1895 and left two daughters Ada and Pear. The service featured a choir and six sermons by Rev. C J Banks.
