W R Franklin died at 2 22 p m in Tempe after a lung illness. He came to Mesa a year ago for health, lived with family in Tempe, and died after five weeks in bed. Funeral conducted by Odd Fellows with services at home then cemetery in Phoenix. Born May 1850 in Kentucky, he lived in New Madrid Missouri and Los Angeles before 1888, a printer and publisher. He leaves a wife and two sons Bennie and Willie, and a Miami mother in Tampa Florida. His friends recall him as cheerful, just, and noble.
The Republican caucus endorsed Hon. C W Crouse for Probate Judge last night. The convention next Tuesday should ratify the endorsement.
