A Maine camp meeting at Old Orchard raised about seventy five thousand dollars for foreign missions with attendees donating houses and jewelry and even savings. The Citizens criticized clergy for inflaming religious fervor to impoverish families for distant "savages and cannibals."
The United States will allot the Yuma Reservation in severa lty with 44 800 acres total. About 10 000 acres are estimated for division among the Yuma Indians. Surveyors are expected to return soon and the plan will proceed once the report reaches Washington.
