The Mesa area reports orange trees loaded with bloom and the fruit crop promising a heavy year with apricots ripening by May. Construction and surveys proceed for the Hudson Reservoir and rail extension to Florence, while merchants promote new stock and prices. A social week includes a Whist Club gathering, farewell for Miss Mattie Lewis, and a Republican caucus set for April 10 in Mesa.
A sack containing various articles of gentleman's wearing apparel was found between the Arizona Canal and McDoughal's. The owner may recover by proving property, paying charges, and calling at the Rossgaugh two and a half miles west of Mesa.
The Baptist church will host services next Sunday at 1 830 and evening with continuous meetings all of next week. The report notes a railroad extension from Phoenix via Mesa Florence and Tucson to Calabasses may begin soon. Western Union has acquired Arizona Telegraph Co and started Mesa service with fares to Southern California reduced by 25 cents. The Mesa Republican League Club meets next Wednesday in Social Hall and urges every Republican to attend.
Mr Gilman Brown of 84 Mill Street South Gardner Massachusetts faced a long illness for his son after Typhoid Malaria. Doctors gave up saying the boy wouldn’t live a month. The Lehi trustee election chose D P Jones for a second term. W G Davis left for Utah on business Monday. Friends gathered to bid him farewell Sunday. A Lehi Hall concert and dance raised funds for the Sunday school and was a grand success. Road overseer Harper improves the roads as the river runs high and the town stays busy and content.

The Republican County Central Committee of Maricopa County Arizona calls a county delegate convention to meet at Phoenix City Hall on April 1 1896 at 10 am to elect eighty delegates to the Territorial Convention and to conduct other party business. Caucuses for precinct delegates are set for April 10 1896 at 7 30 pm with inspectors directing locations and duties. Proxies disallowed. credentials must show regular election of delegates. inspectors appointed per precinct list include Newell Moon Pine Jones and others.
At the annual meeting in Moss Arizona on January 27 1894 stockholders adopted a resolution amending Article Six to cap indebtedness at fifty percent of subscribed capital stock. The amendment was certified by President W J Ledaron and Secretary Ben F LeBaron of Zenos Co-Operative Mercantile and Manufacturing Institution and its publication was directed under law.
