Church Services Highlight Busy Sunday in County

The Baptist and Methodist churches reported strong attendance. At Baptist, larger-than-yearly crowds and new song books accompanied by hire of Mr. Pipkin as choir leader and ushers Bar ber and Palmer. Methodist notes Children’s Day practice, renewed organ, and a missionary offering of 23 dollars with further benevolence plans. A county-wide convention plan urged with nonsectarian aims and local committee requests. Also a sales pitch for Prickly Ash Bitters from Jackson Drug Co.

Colonel From Kansas Granted Entrance to Gate

A humorous scene where a fiery haired man named Fanoston declares his nickname "I''red" or "colonel" from Kansas asks to enter. The saint grants entry with a wink, noting no barrier could stop him as he jokes about swimming the moat and scaling the wall to get in.
