Democrats Republicans and Populists join forces for a lively gathering. Dr A J Gibbs presided as A W St John became chair and T E Beck secretary. The ticket included Mayor A J Gibbs, Marshal Charles Beard, City Attorney John L Cramer, Recorder George Legate, Treasurer Olin Alexander, Ward No 1 candidates Tred Salyers and J C Savage, Ward No 2 Ed Garrett and D B Allison, Ward No 3 J B McMahon and T J Clayton. An executive committee of seven was to canvass with two representatives from each ward and a chair to be chosen.

A Choice Entertainment at Opera House Social
The book social and supper by the literary club ladies at the opera house last night drew strong attendance. Supper ran from six to 8 30 with ample, well prepared dishes. The Mena orchestra provided music. Guests formed a grand march, then acted out book representations with device costumes. John Cramer won a prize for best design. Nellie Moore sang and was encored. A Suwanee River performance closed the evening.

Horticultural Society Opens Spring Session With Mixed Fruit Prospects
