Sheriff Pipkin Dead After Pneumonia At Home
Sheriff J L Pipkin dies at his Clendening street home from pneumonia after exposure while meeting taxpayers. Funeral at Dallas cemetery with Rev Compert officiating. Pipkin had served as sheriff 1880 84 and was re elected last fall. Survived by wife Abi gail McKinney and six children. former spouses noted. community offers sympathy. Death of Young McKinney Marks York County Loss
Young McKinney, a longtime Polls County resident and Primitive Baptist preacher, died February 22, 1899 at age 76. He served as county treasurer until last October and was laid to rest near Potter beside his wife, leaving a legacy as a respected local figure.
