Pittsburg and Gulf Railway Receivers Announce Major Improvements
Messrs Fordyce and Withers, now in control as receivers, plan extensive upgrades along the Pittsburg and Gulf line. New machinery worth 35000 dollars will go into Shreveport and Pittsburg shops, 75000 ties monthly contracted, seventy miles of sixty pound rails, track relaying from Neosho south, and work trains with large crews to improve right of way and ballast. A second story addition to the passenger depot and yard changes are also contemplated to aid train handling.

McMahon Resigns to Lead Mexican Bridge Project
J B McMahon resigns as superintendent of bridges and buildings for the Port Arthur Route system to join Wadell and Hendricks of Kansas City. He will supervise 12000 senies feet of Vera Cruz and Pacific railroad bridges, with start planned for June 5 and a two year project. His departure will remove a valued city council member from local leadership duties while his wife and daughter remain in Port Arthur.

Mable Colton Injured In Barn Fork Accident
Miss Mable Colton of Mena Ark visiting her grandmother in Waterloo Indiana suffered a severe facial injury when a fork tine pierced her face while handing it to a cousin in the barn hay loft. The tine went through the chin and out below the eye. a ten year old sister helped remove the fork. Mrs Colton reports she is recovering without facial scarring.

Baptist Sunday school members met at the church at 9 o clock Tuesday morning and traveled to the platea orth of the city on the St John Wand for a time in the woods. Baskets were taken along for the outing.

Dulles Town Pioneer School Picnic Ends With Contests
Relished during the dinner hour, the school event drew a portion of the embers present as attendees enjoyed the day. The pastor and superintendent shared the crowd, with games like base and drop the handkerchief. Two contests closed the day, a tree climb and rock throwing, won by Superintendent Jones' side. Pioneers returned home at 4 PM tired but happy.
