A Little River News summary reports a St. Francis County potato raiser shares practices for high yields. Prepare land, plant in hills, fertilize with 500 to 800 pounds of cotton seed meal per acre, and plow between operations. Red Triumph favored, eight to ten bushels per acre. river bottom yields about 150 bushels per acre with two crops yearly, ridge lands require fertilizer. Planting begins at the first dry spell in January and ends before March.

William M Elton born April 5 1839 in New York died January 10 1899 in Polle county Arkansas. He recently moved here bought a small farm and began a cottage but died before completion. He was Episcopal Christian and a devoted husband father citizen. Funeral held at the grave. body laid in Mt Gil ead cemetery to await resurrection morn. Funeral writers note his energy and potential to benefit the county. Offer condolences and prayers for the bereaved.
