Circuit Court Opens in New County Seat
The Pell County Circuit Court began its September term at the opera house with Judge Fenzell presiding. Morning focused on jury impaneling. afternoon saw H. H. Randolph plead guilty to assault and battery, fined 175 dollars for tying and beating Sarah Lawrence to coerce confession. Tuesday's docket included Heath aggravated assault for 50 dollars, Long liquor law cases with four dismissals and one guilty plea for 100 dollars, Gray disturbing peace for 10 dollars, Monroe Stewart 10 dollars, and Randolph false imprisonment with guilty plea 100 dollars. Attorneys for Bud Weihant sought a change of venue to Montgomery county, which was granted.

Frisco Extension Opens To Bolivar Missouri Part Of Frisco System
The Frisco railway line will open for traffic tomorrow from Kansas City to Bolivar Missouri as part of the St Louis and San Francisco system. Leidigh and Havens Lumber Co announces a new planing mill and lumber yard on East Honett avenue in Mena. The site includes a 150 by 150 foot building to house four planers a cut-off saw a moulder and related machinery powered by a 100 horsepower boiler. A two 500 barrel water tanks water system and electric fire alarms will be installed. Manager Loidigh expects operations in three weeks with about forty workers. most output will go to northern retail yards.
