A Star reporter toured the site of the forthcoming ice plant at Howett avenue and Marsden street, meeting foreman Fred Kloepper who described a 100 foot frontage by the railroad switch. The single building houses the cold storage and boiler room, built solidly with quality materials. A four story rear structure for a water filter and condensers is under construction, and an engineer will soon supervise the large engine installation. Two car loads of machinery are en route from the factory.
A vintage drug advertisement promises a one day cure for colds using Laxative Bromo Quinine tablets. It claims all druggists refund money if it fails to cure and asserts each tablet contains genuine L B Q.
John Dehart lost his Mountain Fork farm home to a noon Tuesday fire caused by a defective flue. His wife and he saved beds and clothing but all other wearing apparel and home fixtures were lost. Nearby residents reported the blaze and its costly toll on the household.
