Bacchus Marsh Show Faces Strain and Broadwide Changes
The 60th Bacchus Marsh Agricultural and Pastoral Society show opened amid criticisms of being thin and dry due to trade strains and drought. Exhibits suffered in dairy and horse classes as tractors rise, while Ayrshires and Shorthorns gave modest dairy contest results. The day featured a large luncheon by district ladies raising over 70 pounds for local Cross, with prize lists across draught horses, blood stock, cattle, sheep, poultry, dairy produce, preserves, and horticulture.
