The Brockington Red Cross held a Sept 14 picnic at Olaf Rud's netting 22.30 from dinner donations. Auctions added 40.65, and post sale events including races and refreshments brought total to 96.85 for Red Cross. Thanks were given to Mr Rud and family for the use of their home.

Self Feeder Effectiveness In Finishing Hogs Study
An experiment at Scott station evaluated self feeders for finishing hogs. In two trials with Berkshire pigs, self fed hogs gained more and showed higher profits than trough fed hogs, with gains around 2.4 pounds daily and profits of $31.85 vs $14.78 in the first period, and $23.33 vs $20.32 in the second period.
