Gerald Murphy, training at a Texas aviation camp, completed his course and is en route home to his parents. He participated in a major flying contest near Fort Worth where a world record of 80 000 miles was accumulated in one day by 30 aircraft. Pleasantdale Red Cross Dance Yields Fund for Society
Pleasantdale Red Cross Society held its third dance at the school on Friday February 15. Four new members joined as the event raised more than 50 dollars from door receipts, cake sales, and donations. An auction of a copper red, white and blue cushion, donated by Mrs. Wilbert Flemming, netted about 40 dollars with Peter Stewart purchasing the item after multiple bids. The evening featured an excellent orchestra led by Mr. Clans with Archie Campbell and Dick Large.

Edward Goodfellow Rites Conducted In Melfort
Edward Goodfellow aged 44 who died February 23 is survived by a widow and two daughters Jean and Katie. Born in Prince Albert, he leaves four brothers and two sisters: William and J of Kinistino, Robert of Richard, East, Joseph of Saskatoon, George of Lloydminster, and Mrs Batman of Saskatoon. The funeral occurred Tuesday with a service at St James Presbyterian Church in Melfort led by Rev D Campbell, followed by interment at Mount Pleasant cemetery.

Lost River Man Nearly Frozen To Death
W Wenger a Lost River settler slipped while skiing the Saskatchewan northern bank and broke his knee. He lay helpless until sunset, crawled to his gun and fired several shots.
