Mission Services Well Attended in Melfort Saskatchewan

The Melfort circuit and Beatty events drew large crowds for missionary sermons by Rev. O Endicott detailing war needs. An afternoon talk at Beatty followed by a W M S address on world conditions drew 100 plus attendees. Ede sang a solo and Miss Nerison and Miss Brown contributed readings while Mrs Tanton presided. Social service anniversary events featured Rev Hugh Dobsoe speaking on church social work and Canadian citizenship.

Carrot River No 429 Council Minutes April Meeting

The Rural Municipality of Carrot River No 429 held its April 3 meeting in the municipal hall at Flette Springs. Town Council Monday Night Proceedings and Inquiries

The council discussed sidewalk requests and a $43.76 claim for flood damages from a broken water main. Cattle Die From Suspected Poison Bait Near Edenbridge

In Edenbridge on April 14, Joe Cramer lost three prized cows found dead near his home, likely poisoned by coyote bait set last winter by local hunters. Broado also reported a cow killed at the same site. Dr Kelliher of Star City examined the carcasses near land sold to Alex Gan.

Star City Red Cross Meeting Acknowledges Support

Mrs. Gilray receives thanks as Red Cross members report 425 dollars raised from tea and donations. Beginning Wednesday and Thursday, April 18, the Scenic Theatre will show All Star Mutual Features nightly, starting with Bhackles of Trath.

Nurse Attrill With Mons Star

Pleasant Valley Red Cross Meeting And Fund Drive

Pleasant Valley Red Cross held its regular monthly meeting at Miss Rodgers home on a sunny Wednesday. Resolutions approved for knitting coats and a work and dance event to be announced later. Members worked on socks and donations totaled $6.55 from ranch sales and individual gifts. The next meeting is planned at Mrs Stewart's home in May.
