Six Feared Lost After Bridge Collapse Near Murdochville
Six or more workers from Gaspe Copper Mines are feared missing after part of a bridge over the York River collapsed 30 miles east of Murdochville Quebec. Cpl Hector O'Neill of the Quebec Provincial Police said the six were employees and the death toll could rise as rescuers search the scene.

NATO denies push for West German nuclear arms
NATO Secretary-General Dirk Stikker rejected Soviet charges that a proposed inter allied nuclear force aims to place nuclear arms with West German soldiers. International manhunt for $300,000 Loomis theft driver
Vancouver police and RCMP are seeking Douglas Brown of Surrey in connection with a Saturday night theft from Loomis Armored Car Service. About $300,000 in small bills and $220,000 in non negotiable cheques were recovered. Brown is charged with theft over $50. Brown’s partner had left after unload, leaving Brown with the unlocked vault. The car containing money was found in a Richmond hotel lot near the airport.
