A 91 year old Magdeburg resident was rescued by police and fire crews after slipping on a tar roof and becoming stuck. He was freed bit by bit and unharmed, though his clothing was ruined.
Allan Rothenburger pleaded guilty in Medicine Hat Provincial Court to two fraud charges for obtaining food and lodging at Travelodge and Sidestreet Pub without paying. He also failed to attend court. He received eight days in custody, 12 months probation, a restitution order, and directions to seek employment.
