Runaway oil rig halts near Halifax bridge in Atlantic gale
A 10 storey Mobil oil rig named Zapata Scotian broke moorings in 50 to 55 knot winds and drifted 2 km up Halifax harbor for 40 minutes. Tug boats corralled it near the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge avoiding a collision with a ferry terminal and a Polish freighter. No injuries reported.
