Needle exchange huge in the Hat
Medicine Hat Cares Centre in downtown opened in 2010 runs a needle exchange aiding about 200 regular clients with 15 000 to 18 000 needles issued monthly and 175 000 last year. Barbra Madonka notes transients from Ontario also use the service and stresses harm reduction and connections to addictions services.
