Apology demanded as PDD budget cuts prompt meeting
About 400 people affected by changes to the department for Persons with Developmental Disabilities attended an information session at the Cypress Centre on Monday. A young woman sobbed as she urged an apology from Associate Minister Frank Oberle, who accepted blame for poor communication and said a July 1 implementation date was off the table without a new target. Paula MacLean, MMCS Ltd. CEO, called the process multi-year, while others urged timely resolution and better Edmonton-province coordination.
