Grain elevator blaze near Grassy Lake draws multiple departments

Fire crews from seven departments including Medicine Hat battled a major grain elevator fire at Grassy Lake about 70 kilometres southwest of Medicine Hat. Two elevators reportedly burned as nearby bulk storage was threatened. No injuries reported and evacuations occurred. cause unknown.

Wreckage on Mount Lougheed Yields Three Bodies

Three men were found dead at the Mount Lougheed crash site west of Calgary after a light aircraft disappeared while assisting a search for a missing Cessna 182. The victims, pilot Bruce Pratt and passengers Rod Harradence and Hayden Evans, were recovered from the 2,300 metre level and will be identified by a coroner.
