Tragedy Near Edmonton Carsus: Gar ner Dead in Hill Ditch Crash
Western Roundup reports Charles Garner 19 of Edmonton killed when brakes failed on a hill five miles southwest of Edmonton. Ed Pearson and Charles Garde were hospitalized with injuries whose extent was not yet known. Disturbance at Police Point leads to guilty verdicts
In Police Point court on Saturday two Medicine Hat youths and one Bow Island teen were found guilty of creating a disturbance at a Boy Scout camp. Tony Kerner 18 Bow Island received 50 dollars fine plus 24 dollars costs. Jack and Charles Demaere 17 Medicine Hat each 50 dollars and costs. Ken Pender 17 Bow Island 25 dollars and costs. Crown witnesses described shouting swearing and fighting at the camp late June 1 after-party members include Rex Stromsmoe Bow Island and three girls. Magistrate A Y Spivack warned Kerner and others to stay away from liquor, noting serious conduct and potential jail next time.
