Sterilization resumes at Medicine Hat Hospital after water issues
Alberta Health Services says Medicine Hat Regional Hospital has resumed sterilizing equipment after a May 9 residue was found in the early stage of sterilization. Investigators traced the root cause to particles in the hospital’s internal water lines, not the city main, and installed filters on all equipment. Discolouration on heavier equipment has been resolved as lines were flushed and filters worked. The MDR process remains strict with 10 to 15 quality checks. Elective surgeries were postponed but most have been rescheduled as sterilization resumed.

Medicine Hat false alarm on man feared to fall into river
Police confirm a report of an unknown man possibly falling into the South Saskatchewan River near the Trans-Canada bridge was likely unfounded. Fire, RCMP and SEASAR searched the river after the call, but investigators doubt the incident occurred and no charges are indicated.
