Medicine Hat flood prep edges ahead with berms and walls
City officials say 2015 Lions Park berm raised paths 14 feet, while permanent berms reduce need for temporary walls. Municipal works manager Dwight Brown notes annual plan updates and a shift to cost effective measures, with berms tying into natural hillsides. Mayor Clugston calls the city best prepared in Canada as they reassess barricades and sandbags for 1 in 100 year floods.
