To date the city logged traffic violations by category. Excessive speed accounts for 32 cases, without due care 15, failing to stop 15, ability impaired 13, fail yield right of way 9, and other violations 34.
The Fayetteville incident left 19 dead after a tractor trailer hit a flatbed carrying migrant workers on the way to a bean field. Willie Gary of Syracuse died later in the hospital. The National Safety Council notes 1947 Texas crash as a prior US record.
A field day for junior dairy calf farmers in the Medicine Hat milk shed is planned tomorrow at Echodale Farm off the Holsom road. Chamber secretary Bob Lacey said the agricultural committee asked all members to attend. Fourteen juniors are in this 4-H Club project organized by the chamber of commerce. Lunch will be provided by the milk producers association.
Detroit AP reports leaders of the Automobile Manufacturers Association urge the industry to avoid promoting speed or horsepower. Directors recommend manufacturers support evaluating cars by useful power and safe reliable transport rather than engine capacity. Critics note engines of 800 horsepower or more.
A cooler air mass from Northern Canada will push south toward Edmonton tonight and southern regions by Saturday morning. A three year old girl, Linda Lehr, was rushed to Medicine Hat General Hospital after running into the side of a Alberta Brewers Agents truck on 12th Street S E. She had no broken bones but was badly bruised. Driver Chris Schuh and another man said a child ran from a parked car into the truck. Neighbors helped until ambulance arrived. The child’s father works at the Cecil Hotel.
In Luton England former sergeant major Thomas David Bolter 37 denied heavy drinking affecting conduct. Asked to quote his drinking capacity he said he drinks eighteen pints when seated and would fall over when standing. Court found him not guilty.
A 21 year old U S Army soldier William Girard faces trial in a Japanese court for killing a Japanese woman during a scrap collection at an American base. U S officials had sought to block surrender while a habeas corpus hearing proceeds in Washington. Girard claims the shooting was accidental and he awaits a fair trial in Japan.

At Fort Riley Kansas Sergeant Paul A Barrier 29 used an M 1 rifle to kill Lieutenant Jerry Humphrey 22 and Master Sergeant Ralph Stilson 29 after being censured for field march errors He surrendered minutes later and underwent a mental examination Eyewitnesses report Barrier warned he would kill the lieutenant and the sergeant prior to the shootings
A Supreme Court of Alberta ruling awards Milton Emma and Gilbert Thompson a total of 16500 damages for injuries from a July 1955 Monalta highway crash. Thomas Nicoll, driving another car, escaped with minor injuries. Ralph Hassard sustained facial lacerations.

In Port Arthur a man robbed a blind man of four dollars and was sentenced to six months plus three months indefinite.
Vancouver BC Lorne Reid, a quick reacting tackle, leaped aside as a 12 ton trestle broke away on the second narrows bridge. He suffered a broken toe and a bruise on the adjacent toe but avoided more serious injury when soft dirt cushioned the fall.
Regina Leonard Bowman, former safety education director of the Saskatchewan Motor Club, has been appointed the first witness See-Roundup head. The announcement appears on page 14.
