Conservation meeting postponed in Lethbridge on June 4

Secretary L J S Rose of the Lethbridge Board of Trade told W Huckvale of the local Chamber of Commerce that the water conservation meeting set for June 4 in Lethbridge is postponed. The postponement comes as Chairman J R Vallance and Engineer Ben Russell of the P F R A water conservation committee are unavailable. A new date is being arranged with government officials and will be announced later this month.

Doukhobor held by police in Nelson trouble

Doukhobor man was held by British Columbia police on obstruction charges after officers used force to arrest him at Nelson. Tina Makoreff, a Doukhobor woman, died Sunday after leaving Shore Acres, prompting an inquest. Authorities report she died about an hour after her frantic claim she would die.
