The mileage rose from 8 in 1909 to 1 049 in 1910 and capital liability climbed to 102 044 979. Gross earnings reached 17 100 89 with a 2 275 853 improvement. Net earnings were 5 853 276 after 2 953 759 taxes and interest. Canada’s electric railways carried 360 964 876 passengers and 352 294 tons of freight in 1910. They employed 11 390 with a wages bill of 6 316 77. Accidents caused 95 deaths and 2 538 injuries.
