Prison adds up for Charles Ng in Canada

Charles Ng, linked to nine California sex slayings, was found not guilty of attempted murder but sentenced in Calgary to 18 months for armed robbery, two years for aggravated assault, and one year for unlawful use of a firearm after a bungled shoplifting incident. Disputed Reinstatement Denied for Medicine Hat Dispatcher

Mike Eugene Glasgo, a 26 year old former Medicine Hat City Police dispatcher, had his bid to be reinstated denied at the Court of Queen's Bench. Glasgo, fired Sept. 9, 1985 for alleged police computer system violations, argued natural justice and regulatory breaches. Justice Paul Chrumka ruled he was not a member of the city police and must appeal through other channels such as the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Families to sue Air India over 1985 crash in Canada

RCMP officers cleared in fake letters case against left group

A Toronto judge ruled former RCMP officers acted within their roles when distributing fake letters to create dissension in the League for Socialist Action. The ruling dismissed Ross Dawson's $900,000 damage claim, saying officials believed they had statutory authority in Operation Checkmate.
