Stampeder sale announced after failed fundraising
Cal gary Stampeders, community owned in the Canadian Football League, were put up for sale after failing to secure about 3.6 million in pledges. Club president Pat Peacock said only 2 million was raised, and the board moved to sell with funds to be held by the CIBC to support next year’s operations.

City considers 2.9 percent electric rate hike for 1986
