Despite bad weather a Riverside school turnout heard Mayor Bullivant discuss city finances noting re bonds, credit, and recent gas-field work. Ald King echoed points, while a lively Q and A session highlighted local concerns and ongoing street improvements.
A distressed physician Dr. V E Latimer received a threatening message promising sulphuric acid if he remains in Penticton for a week. Attention shifts to next Tuesday when Charles Oliver appears before Judge Brown in the County Court to elect for a speedy jury trial on a charge of forcible seizure.
Three men Gene Johnston Seat Wise and Wise’s son, missing since leaving Pender Harbor for Gervis Inlet, are presumed drowned. Their submerged coat was found near the Trlet entrance about 100 miles north of Vancouver. The dog returned to Pender Harbor. heavy fog followed the voyage.
James A. Johnstone of Yellowgrass Saskatchewan led Canada to a complete triumph at the International Livestock Exposition Clydesdale classes. Scary Boy was named junior champion stallion and Sonny Boy won the grand championship. Lady Trojan Mahomet captured the grand champion mare, with Miss Manners and Baron Trojan earning top placings in other divisions. Lady Fashion II, also from Yellowgrass, was the sole other Canadian placer.

Edmonton dispatch reports Gasnon Atroider, manager of the Hudson Bay Company post at Fort Good Hope in the Northwest Territories, was burned to death when his dwelling burned on December 22. New details of the tragedy have been received.

Featherweight champion Elmer Rathwell holder of the Bux ton Belt arrives in town to train at the Third Street Armories tonight for Monday’s bout with Young Gorefiere. Rathwell, in top form, expects a tough fight and will start training at 8 p.m. Gore arrives tonight and trains at the Armouries around 9 p.m. Fans are invited to watch the workouts.

In Philadelphia Cameron a bank messenger was shot during a robbery as bandits seized a bag containing 34000 dollars in cash and checks.
Kingston Ont Dec 6 The steamer John B Irwin of the McColl Frontenac Oil Company left Cobourg four days ago for Kingston and had been reported missing. The vessel pulled into the dry dock at 130 this afternoon and all aboard are apparently safe.
Edmonton announces tenders for excavation on the new provincial government's administrative building to be built on the east side of 109th street between 98th and 99th avenues. General contract bids to follow next week. The four story steel and stone fireproof complex will consolidate offices and ease unemployment.
