Two British freighters torpedoed in the North Sea

The Horsted of 1,670 tons was struck and five crewmen were missing after the North Sea attack. 13 survivors and three bodies landed. The Doric Star of 10,086 tons was also attacked by a German raider with unknown fate for the crew. it carried meat cargo from New Zealand and Australia and was built in 1921 for Blue Star Lines. Captain W. Stubbs led the Doric Star.
